Calling all foodies! Chicago restaurant week is FINALLY upon us. The 9th annual Chicago restaurant week returns Jan, 22nd through February 4th and is organized by Choose Chicago, the city’s official tourism organization.

For 14 glorious days, all of the city’s best restaurants feature pre-fixe lunch and dinner menus for $22, $33 & $44, respectively (keep in mind, drinks, tax & gratuity are not included.)

Chicago is a huge foodie destination, with some of the most diverse & critically acclaimed restaurants in the world, so restaurant week is an excellent opportunity to indulge in some great food at even better prices.

The menus are out. While everything looks delicious, I’ve made a list of a few spots that are must try’s for me this CRW. Check out the full list of participating restaurants here, and make your reservations through OpenTable. Make them early so that you don’t miss out on the action!

1. Harry Caray’s Steakhouse

Boom. Classic Chicago steakhouse meal without the steakhouse price. Their impressive restaurant week menu features classics like jumbo lump crab cake, filet mignon with a brown butter bearnaise and a grand marnier creme brulee for dessert. So its basically like, perfect and by far the most decadent steakhouse menu I came across. If I were you, I’d go with one other person so you can get double the apps and double the desserts. Major key. 33 W Kinzie St.

2. Siena Tavern

A favorite no matter what week it is, Siena Tavern is a Rustic Italian Favorite in River North known for its fresh pizza and pasta. Its restaurant week menu features both, thank god, along with some yummy bites like seared scallops & a decadent caramel jar cookie for dessert. This place is usually booked well in advance so make sure you book your spot early. 51 W Kinzie St.

3. Slurping Turtle

Let me just start by saying, I love ramen. I seek out new restaurants as they pop up, I make it myself at home with homemade broth. I take my ramen seriously. If you’ve never had it before, there’s no time like now and there’s no place like here, my friends! Slurping Turtle’s CRW menu is a great lunch choice. You can get duck fat fried chicken, your choice of 2 different ramen and a green tea crème puff for dessert. Cant go wrong with that. 116 W Hubbard St.

4. Seven Lions

With Millennium Park, The Art Institute and Theatre District right outside its door, Seven Lions is definitely worth the trip to the loop. The décor is beautiful, the food is done well and their menu is really enticing this CRW. For just 33 bucks you can get oysters and a whitefish cioppino with chorizo and saffron or braised short rib as a main course. But what REALLY caught my eye was the Dreamsicle baked Alaska with blood oranges. I’m pretty much just here for the dreamsicles. 130 S Michigan Ave.

5. Roka Akor

This year’s “I would not be able to afford this any other time” champion is Roka Akor, A Japanese seafood & steakhouse. Their restaurant week pre-fixe menu comes with a drink and includes some super fresh sushi for the first course. With your choice of Miso marinated cod, NY strip steak with soy butter or Korean spiced lamb for your main. Go Indulge. You deserve it. 456 N. Clark St.

6. Knife & Tine

One of my very favorite menus this restaurant week goes to Knife & Tine. They give you around 6 equally awesome options for each course and its only $33. My perfect pairing would be chorizo mac and cheese to start, veggie gumbo or honey butter Fried Chicken for my main course and an apple pie for dessert. 1417 W. Fullerton Ave.
